Episode 47: Why Black Women Physicians Need to Stop Struggling to Get A Seat and Start Build Their Own Table with Dr. Nneka Unachukwu

On this episode, I had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Nneka Unachukwu (Dr. Una) business coach for physicians and CEO of EntreMD Business School.  She is a powerhouse who grew a 7 figure private medical practice that is 10 years strong, and has been able to guide physicians to turn their passion into a profitable business. We talk about the first steps that are critical to push you into building your vision and making it real!

In this episode, we had the chance to discuss:

  • We talk about how she began her initial journey into entrepreneurship in the most unlikely time of her life, as a mother of two and recently graduating from residency.

  • The realization that so many of us as physicians are able to practice medicine but never are fully exposed to the business side of medicine, despite the fact that business skills can be learned.

  • How this is an era where all  physicians must recognize the additional skills they have outside of solely seeing patients and learn how to monetize them and why choosing the path of least resistance is key.

  • How a huge part of her work is helping physicians to stop underestimating the skills they have cultivated and taking the leap to create something of their own to build their own table.

  • Why clarity comes through action and how our mistakes help us niche down and get closer to the business we were meant to.
